b00kbug:  That’s so strange. I use the Clearblue advanced digital and the instructions and everything I’ve experienced both show that a solid smiley will stay on the test wand for 48 hours before going away. Either way, it sounds like you have had great timing!

Sorry if someone has already asked this, but I have an opk question, too.  For those of you who temp and use opks, do you know how long after your first postive opk that you tend to O?  I know “they” always say 24-36hrs after, but i’m curious if anyone has noticed a trend.

Today is the first day of my first 2ww and already I can tell it’s going to be a long 2 weeks…

mfitzp1:  I’m day 1 of the dreaded TWW also! I don’t know if there is a way to REALLY know exactly when you O if you don’t temp. OPKs will tell you when you are ABOUT to O. Once you O, the egg then lives for 12-24 hours.

whitums:  Ha! Yea DH was kept busy. I changed a few things from last month – staying on my back for a few minutes after BDing (not bothering with trying to tilt my hips up, that just seems weird to me). And this TWW I am REFUSING to google symptoms and do CM checks. Because I learned that CM is a big fat liar, and google is evil on a TTCer.

mfitzp1:  For me personally, out of my last 4 cycles I’ve O’d the day after a positive OPK twice and 2 days after a positve twice (confirmed by temping).  I wish I was more consistent and could be of more help.

b00kbug:  I so agree with all of that! I don’t bother symptom spotting since so many post-ovulation symptoms are similar to pregnancy…I finally realized there’s no point. I am trying so hard to keep my mind off things and let it be what it will be, but it is hard. My good friend who suffers from endo and has had two surgeries in the past two years to get rid of it just found out she’s pregnant. She was told she had a 5% chance and literally found out the week she was supposed to start IVF treatments. She thinks a lot of her success had to do with both good timing and the fact that she had come to terms with the fact that it wouldn’t happen naturally and knew she was going through IVF. She thinks that relaxed her mind. It was very inspirational for me to see that in real life.

MrsBananas:  Thank you!  This WAS helpful.  Last month I started using opks to get an idea of when I ovulate and I think I O’d 2 days after my first positive.  This month I think it was 1 day after.  I know I can’t tell for sure if I O’d since I don’t temp (I’m going to try to hold off on temping for a while b/c I’m afraid I’ll get too obsessed!), but your response made me feel better.

b00kbug:  Yay!!  A partner in crime!  We can go through the 2ww together.  I’m also trying to stay away from google… that evil b 🙂

I never understood why everyone had such a hard time during the TWW. I always thought in my head, “just relax! Live your life, nothing will pasa time faster.” Now i am one of them! I walk through the baby aisles at target, have planned how im going to tell DH, calculated my due date, and started symptom spotting. And it’s only 3 DPO, so it’s not even possible at this point!!! :0

I’m unsure if i’ve o’d yet, but it either just happened or coming… so far we’ve only been able to bd 0-3, 0-5, & 0-7 (or round abouts) – I don’t have much hope 🙁

I vented on the charting board & may as well here seeing as it’s a vent. DH didn’t ‘feel like bd last night’. Oh ok, I’ll just wait another month until YOU FEEL like it. I’ve done what all reasonable adults do & not spoken to him this morning!
