Is anyone else worried that it will rain on their wedding day?? I’m trying not to freak out about the weather but it’s been in the back of my mind. Oh well, it’s beyond my control. What is your back up plan if it does end up raining?

My wedding date is the same as yours 🙂 Although my wedding is all indoors I worry about the rain because of a) my hair…frizzy nightmare lol and b) because of pictures
I dont have a back up plan so I guess I will just have to roll with it

I know it’s crazy I don’t have a backup plan either 🙁 The venue I got for free is like a ranch and having everything indoors is completely impossible in my head. The reception maybe but I don’t think there’s space for the ceremony. The venue previously had a wedding planned but it was pouring down and they let the bride have the wedding that monday… so maybe that would be an option for me. I’m tired of family members saying that! It’s like they’re trying to curse it!

We are getting married inside, 1. because I love my venue and 2. because I didn’t want to deal with having to make a back up plan and worrying about rain because the weather is so crazy here. Seriously it could end up snowing on our wedding day the way weather goes around here. But I hope it doesn’t rain cuz humidity and my hair are mortal enemies

I am! I am getting married in a historic mansion and the original plan is to get married on the grounds, outdoors. But if it rains, there is a back-up plan of having the ceremony in the “dining room” of the house. The problem is, it can only seat 120ppl and I’m probably going to have 130-140 guests. If it rainsI may have to have my cermony in the same area as my reception. 🙁

Our plan is to get married outdoors, however our reception is indoors at the same venue. So if it does rain, we’ll plan to just be married on the dancefloor in the reception area.
And secretly, I’m hoping for some rain, because I want some cute rain photos! 🙂

oh boy the dreaded topic!! Lol. I am afraid it will rain, but am learning to ‘think positive’ like my FI keeps telling me.the Venues’ backup
plan is to get married on dance floor…I am LESS than thrilled of this posibility, so when I secretly worry about it, I find other options. Our venue has a separate room holds less than half our guests (courtesy of my mom for ever growing guest lst SMH). So am just gonna go with flow.

Awww I’m not-so-secretly excited for all you April 2013 ladies. April weddings have a special place in my heart. ;]
As for rain. I got married in APRIL in SEATTLE! If there were ever a perfect recipe for April showers, that’d be it. I actually planned in advance for bad weather and was really excited for amazing photos in the rain. As it turned out, I woke up on my wedding day to sunshine beaming brightly through the windows and it was a freakishly beautiful sunny day. It was bizarre and I was genuinely disappointed that I didn’t have photo ops in the rain!
My very best advice is to have a back-up plan and assume you’ll have to use it. That way you’ll be set.

Yeah… I live in the South, and my wedding is going to be on the same day (April 27) as those horrendous tornadoes a year or so ago. In case you’re curious.. here’s the wikipedia story: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/April_25%E2%80%9328,_2011_tornado_outbreak
So.. rain. Ha, it could be worse?

@janebennett: I remember those tornados, they were terrible, thankfully we are in TN not AL so it wasn’t as bad up here but my company was sending people down to help in AL for weeks. I really hope nothing like that happens again this year….or ever for that matter.

My reception & ceremony are both indoors.. really any month you pick in Ohio is a gamble! The only thing I’m worried about is if it rains, where to take pictures inside. I know I have to figure something out, in case of rain.. but I’m thinking positive.. I just found the most beautiful park only 7 minutes away from our venue I really want to have our pictures taken at!
