djenah79: Just realized you’re having a destination wedding as well!

I’m getting married in the Riviera Maya (Tulum), also a beach wedding. Not completely ready since I still have the programs, place cards and music list to do! How are you doing with the planning, all done or still finishing some small details?

MrsJager2014: Oooh Tulum is gorgeous!! I think I’m actually wrapping just about everything up. I picked up my dress today which was super exciting since she made some changes to it. I’ve been really just casual about everything and I hope it doesn’t come back to bite me…lol. We have such a small wedding (16ppl including us and our 2 kids) that I’m not even doing programs or place cards. I am currently working on a week long itinerary for the guests if they choose to join in any group activities with us. I’m also trying getting all of the vendors paid so it’s one less thing to worry about – but I think everyone is on island time, and in no rush to take my money…LOL.

We do still have to do a music list of sorts. We are not having a dj, and I’m pretty sure my fiance thinks we can just go down there and throw pandora on the ipad. *sigh* It’s the one task that I really, really don’t want to deal with…the way that’s going, we may just be eating to the sound of the waves. At least we have karaoke at the bar after?

I think my biggest concern now is packing everything. So. Much. Stuff. I had no idea how much room the welcome bags would take. I already have one suitcase full just from that. And I have to figure out what to do with my dress. Jet Blue doesn’t have a closet, and I am not going to risk checking it – welcome bags are one thing, my gown is another – so it has to fit standard carry on regulations πŸ™ What does your dress look like?? Is it just a beachy casual dress or did you still go all out with a gown?

djenah79: That’s a good party of people you got going to your wedding! I’m having about 25 people, but I still wanted to do the programs and place cards etc. to have the full wedding experience. We’re also just trying to get all the vendors paid, but like yours, ours are also in “island” time, never in a rush hahah!
We decided not to rent a DJ either, by the way. We’re hooking up our macbook with our wedding music mix too. We wanted to make sure every single song was of our choice, we’re also sending an email to our guests requesting 2 songs of their choice to be played at our wedding.
So nice that you’re having welcome bags!!! I’m also thinking of doing this (DIY), but our budget it’s completely exhausted by now that I’m not sure if we can squeeze this in or not. However, we are having favor boxes with french macarons for our guests.
And thanks for reminding me about packing up already, I need to start planning that already especially when we’re travelling with our dog (ring bearer).
I went all out with a gown LOL – so it’s going to be tricky carrying it with me in the cabin, we’ll see!
Here’s a photo of my dress (with my alterations lady). I’d love to see yours too! Have a lovely day and looking forward to seeing more of you here on the boards! πŸ™‚

I’ve been away from the bee for a while!

    Wedding Date : April 26th

Wedding Colors: Shamrock Green and Gold, with ivory

No of Guest: It’s looking like 140

Indoor/ Outdoor: Totally indoor. I don’t do outdoor so much (lots of allergies).

What are you most excited about? The only thing so far that has made me almost cry when I thought about it is saying our vows/exchanging the rings, so I’ll say that part of the ceremony. I’m also really excited to exchange the wedding presents we bought for each other! I bought him an iPad πŸ™‚
