Sunshine024 :  Good choice with the sapphire, it is stunning! Aquamarine is a beryl, like emerald, and quite soft, not suitable for every day unless you dont mind getting it scuffed up. My stepmother has an emerald ring that was her mother’s and it sure has not held up well. But of course that’s not the point of having that particular ring.

Tbh, if I was you, I’d keep searching. The aquamarine will be difficult to find a band which will contour enough to look nice, and this limits the fact of you want to wear the wedding band alone. There are tonnes of preloved rings out there  that won’t break the bank.

Just my sentiments – but don’t settle for something which you aren’t 100% happy with x

Sunshine024 :  aww your wedding pictures are beautiful!!

OP I agree with sunshine024, a sapphire seems like it may more be something you’re looking for. They are durable  and have a VARIETY of colors. One thing that is also very budget friendly are colored moissanites. They have many from China and India and can be pretty cheap. I have a beautiful sea foam green one I am having set in to a bezel setting for a RHR that I think I paid $30 for from off of eBay. Check the policy’s to see if you can return and order some stones from offline and see which ones you like. If you want to see sapphires in person, I would start with high end jewelry retailers. They usually have a stock of loose diamonds and gemstones in the back. One place that I went to that had a lot of different colored loose gemstones to look at to get an idea that I untilized during the ring making process was the Shaneco. Once you’ve found a stone that you just love I would go with the setting very similar to Kristin Coffin or the one from moissaniteco that another bee mentioned. Of the three rings you’ve posted it seems like you lean more toward elongated and pointed halos.  Being you subconsciously keeps going back to that sort of design, that’s probably what your heart really wants, but that’s my personal opinion. Good luck!

I prefer the quartz. But if I were you I’d custom make a ring with a brown moissy!

I like the aquamarine ring alot. It looks bridal to me. The Smokey quartz looks harsh on you.  Maybe for a right hand ring, but definitely not an engagement ring
