(Closed) Are 3.5mm and 4mm stones that different? Should I go bigger?

Your set is gorgeous! I’m going to be honest; I can’t really tell the difference between your band and the first three. It looks like the other rings run “off” the sides of the fingers more, if that makes sense, whereas your five stones fit within the lines of your finger. It’s such a small detail that you’d really have to look, though, and I think it probably does have more to do with the size of their fingers and how much the ring spins than anything else. The first two also have a bigger gap, which visually makes the band stand out more.

There aren’t too many bees with blingy bands here, Pricescope may have more advice to give :).

So they look SUPER similar. The middle pic looks a tad bigger than yours, the bottom pic looks exactly the same. I also notice:

All of the pics have six prongs, yours has 4. It blends a bit better at first glance.

They have more space between the e-ring and the band. Have you tried getting a spacer? The small gap could help.

alessia :  I really love the size of the band you have with your solitaire and think it looks very proportional. I think the other sets you posted look more clunky and the difference you may be seeing is the six prong setting creating a slight gap. Maybe a spacer could help with giving that feeling but I really like your set without it.

I’m glad to see someone else likes blingier bands with a solitaire e-ring! I think your set is beautiful as is, and I do see the size difference. Personally, I’m not sure if it’s worth changing at this point. Live with it for a bit… and ultimately go with your gut! I too have a 2 carat solitaire and just placed an order for a 7 stone with 4mm (0.25ct) diamonds. It’s being made now and I should have it in 2 or so weeks. I’m so excited! I’m really happy I stumbled across this post because I left the diamond dealer on Thursday second guessing myself and worried that 4mm stones may be too blingy. I was so close to calling and making the switch to 3.5mm stones. I was googling like crazy for examples when I found this post and it’s really helped reassure me!! Thank you! Good luck!

alessia :  Definitely blingy!! And from my experience pictures never quite do it justice. I’m sure it’s even more eye catching in person!! I’ll be sure to share pictures when my set comes in!
