Hi! I am thinking of using long rectangular tables at my wedding – 8-foot tables that are 30″ wide, and seat 8 people each. I want dinner to feel intimate and conversational, and the tent company recommended this option to me. When I spoke with an event planner she was concerned that the 30″ tables were far to narrow for guests to feel comfortable. I’m completely torn. I’d love to hear from brides who have used 30″ rectangular tables at their weddings. Were they wide enough? Were your guests comfortable? Was conversation good? Did they enhance the atmosphere? Did you have enough room for your centerpieces? Did they work well? If not, what suggestions do you have for alternate seating? I hate the typical 6′ round tables, because you can never have good conversation with the people at your table. The 8’x30″ tables will fit nicely under our tent, but if we need to go bigger, I can rework our layout. Thanks very much!!
