Mine are 6 inches, because I’m really short – and Fiance is really tall, so I vote no, they’re not too tall.

However, it’s up to you to decide how comfortable you want to be. Definitely wear them around the house as much as possible beforehand. I had to replace my first pair, because I couldn’t stand for more than an hour – and I knew on my wedding day I’d be standing a lot longer.

If they’re too much for around the house, they’ll be too much for a full wedding day.

@gelaine22:  Just picked up a whole bunch of crystals and went for it. I had over a year and a half so if I messed them up I figured I would just buy a new pair. They were such a big hit I helped my cousin do a pair for her wedding this past October.  I’ll include the link to the borads wiht instructions too.

@mchitt329:  +1 If you’re planning on wearing them for you’re wedding you should definitely break them in before hand.

I voted no, because I wear heels all the time, and my wedding shoes were already broken it. They were surprisingly not very uncomfortable – I honestly don’t remember feeling uncomfortable in them for a moment. I changed into flats once the photos were done, so I could dance more easily – but still. Not that bad. I wore Badgley Mischka Randalls:

No because it’ll feel like you’re wearing a 3.5 inch heel.  I agree with other bees about breaking them in before the wedding though.

I don’t think they’re too tall necessarily, but if you want to change into flats later for dancing you’re going to have quite a bit of excess dress to trip on.

It all depends on what you’re used to. My achilles would be screaming at me in heels that high. Mine are actually lower than I normally wear, I think they’re only 11/2″ and that’s because they were the only ones in the color I wanted that I actually liked AND Fiance isn’t that much taller than I am and I didn’t want to be the same height on our wedding day.

@flouncy:  If you are used to wear such a high heels i think you’ll be fine. But just in case i would get a pair of more comfortable shoes.

I voted no. Because of the height of the platform, the arch of the shoe isn’t that bad. As long as they are a better quality shoe I think you will be fine. PS I just ordered 5 inch heels for my own wedding.

I bought really high heels then found out my outdoor wedding involved steps, pavers, sleepers and various other obstacles. Thinking about it now lol…..Is yours an outdoor wedding?

Oh my gosh, they would definitely be too high for me! But that’s coming from someone who doesn’t have very good balance and has trouble walking in anything higher than a kitten heel.  I bought some platform sandals last summer and they were the first time I was able to wear tall shoes, but even though the front and back are almost the same height (so the platform is almost even throughout), I’m still a bit wobbly on them.  Since I’ll probably be a bit nervous and shakey on the big day anyway, I personally won’t be wearing tall heels.  It would be just my luck to fall and go rolling down the aisle.
