As a dietitian, I would not recommend doing a low carb diet.  I have lost 20 lbs while still eating plenty of carbs.  I think the key is to really listen to your body and eat when you are hungry and stop when you are full.  I also eat about 6 times a day.  Anywhere between 200 and 400 calories at my meals, usually a total of about 1600 calories daily on average.  I also workout about 5 times week, burning probably about 300 calories each workout.

Usually the weight lost in the beginning of a low carb diet is water weight.  My recommendation is that diets need to be life-long plans that can be maintained.  Which is why I do Intuitive Eating.  I have never done well on diets because I feel restricted and end up binging.

Good luck, and congrats on all your weight loss thus far.  That is very inspiring and impressive!!!

I agree, low-carb isn’t healthy or practical to maintain for a long time. There are plenty of other ways to lose weight, assuming you have the weight to lose. How tall are you?

What is your current diet and exercise regime like?
