The super-unusual ones will be a problem, but basic ones will always be fine. : (35 votes)

They're out of style in places like NYC, but in many places they're still "in". : (24 votes)

LOL I’m going through the same thing trying to find outfits for my bachelorette weekend!  They are kind of “last season” but I wouldn’t say completely out of style.  I have this gorgeous Herve bandage dress I want to wear that weekend…and dammit, I will!

The really obvious Herve Legers are out of style. Doesn’t mean you can’t still look hot, but women look very late-Noughties when they wear them.

I bought a basic black one, and still wear it from time-to-time (because they really suck you in), but I knew this was only going to be a fad. So, I didn’t purchase anymore. Plus, I no longer care for the ~shiny, sexy mummy~ look:

I have no idea what my former roomie is going to do with all of hers. She made the mistake of buying the colourful Herve Legers…

to be honest who cares if they are or aren’t … if you look hot thats what matters … and they are more than last season , but regular people and certain celebs still wear them 🙂

I echo what PP said. If you look hot, who the hell cares what’s “in style” what always matters to me is “do you look good”…I live in the NYC area and still see girls wearing them out to NYC clubs and bars all the time if it makes you feel better.

I think they are effing hot. I’d rock my pink one if I wasn’t the size of a house right now.

If you follow trends then yes they are out and over done. But really who cares, if you look hot you look hot.

I personally love bandage skirts and have a couple bandage dresses. They are just so flattering and fun. The way I see it is this: You are wearing them out usually. As in to a club or a restaurant. There will always be some naysayer who will say you look whorish or tacky, but who cares? They’re perfect for partying, and sometimes it’s more fun to look tacky when partying. 😉

Screw that! I love me my bandage dresses! I think they’re fine as long as they’re not too “trendy”. Nothing wrong with a clean-line dress =P

While I think they were the trend-of-the-moment about a year ago, I don’t think that means they are “out-of-style” by any means. I want to wear one for my bachelorette next summer (2014) =)!

@pictureaccount:  Bonus points: for clubbing/parties, what is IN style?

I want to know too! Now that I’m out of school, I feel like I have no idea. I guess I have to put all of my bandage skirts away!

    @MlleFabuleux:  Any advice?

I just bought one on sale for my bach this weekend. It’s just a shimmery pink, so it looks like a normal dress but with the bandage things. I think the ones with lots of colors may looks a little dated, but they plain ones are fine and make your body look awesome.

I wore a gorgeous beige/white/black (ombre) Herve Leger bandage dress to Vegas about a month ago for my bachelorette party and I got quite a few compliments on it!!  I saw bandage dresses all over the place, too.

It feels like they had a larger presence last year, though, but doesn’t stop them from still being pretty!!  I’ll be using mine as long as I can 🙂

    Thought I’d add a picture

I was just thinking about this. Bodycon dresses are very much on-trend, although the bandage texture IS a bit “5-minutes ago” IMO. Also, it’s color blocking that came to a screeching halt. That’s why the shades of blue bandage dress above troubles my eye more than the pink one. I think monochrome bandage dresses are perfectly acceptable at least through the end of this summer season. Bright colors are cool. And blending bright colors is even cool, but the stark contrast effect just up and disappeared somewhere around the Christmas. I legit haven’t seen it since. Most of the color mixing I’m seeing is almost exclusively patterns/prints. The way I see it done is now more like this:
