It depends. If your wear a hanging butterfly dangely chain with fake diamonds… Heck yes its trashy. If you have a simple curved barbell or a beaded ring.. it can be cute

I have one and think mine is fine, I think its trashy when girls wear big dangly rings though. I just always wear a small “diamond” one

I got my BB and my nose pierced at 25.  I guess I’m a late bloomer.  I’m kinda over the nose piercing but DH loves it, so I’ll leave it for now.  I think the BB piercing makes my belly look sexier.  I’m petite and I have a nice figure and I also look younger than my age (30) so maybe that’s why I still keep it in.  Most people don’t know I have one unless they’ve seen me in a swimsuit.  I don’t think I’m trashy at all.  I wear a simple bar with crystal flower on the lower end.  It’s sweet.

BB rings are easier to conceal than facial piercings. No one will know you have one if you keep your belly covered. It’s trashy to bare your belly in a professional setting, whether or not you have a bb ring.

I don’t have one, but have considered getting one.

No, it is not trashy. A trashy person can make anything look trashy. A classy person can make anything look classy.

If you photoshop out the belly ring when you thought she looked trashy–she still does. If you photoshop one in on a classy girl, she still is.

I don’t think it depends on the girl, it depends on the ring.  I think the big dangly ones are reminiscent of a stripper, but a simple jeweled one can be cute.  I do think they are very young though…

I had one from age 19 or 20 to about 25.  Just a very simple one.  I loved it for the time, but would never consider having one now in my old age j/k (I’m 30).

I got one back in my college years, right before they really got popular and I only knew 1 other person who had one. I had to take it out when I got pregnant. And let me tell you, the spot where it used to be looks, weird. It’s kind of saggy/droopy where the piercing used to go through. If I could go back, I would NOT do it over.

@JaneyD:I will give you that. Trashy jewelry can turn the whole look trashy.

However, a lot of nice, elegant, simple rings are out there.

Well, I wouldn’t choose the word trashy necessarily, but they seem to be designed to wear with midriff-bearing clothes (otherwise why bother?) which I’m not a fan with. Unless maybe you live somewhere that includes a lot of beach time.

I guess it depends.  I had one when I was 18 but I wouldn’t get one now.  Sometimes I feel like they’re trashy, but I guess if it’s on a person who’s always walking around in crop tops to show it off every second of every day.

I’m in the ‘depends on the girl’ camp myself. I used to have one so maybe I’m biased but like anything, it’s who’s wearing it and how you wear it. If you want it, go for it!

I’m not a fan but I also don’t really have the body to rock something like that. I have friends who had their belly buttons pierced when we were in high school but they took them out years ago. It’s rare that I see a belly button piercing and don’t think that it looks trashy. Though, maybe that’s because the ladies flaunting it really shouldn’t be.

I feel like getting a belly button piercing was the thing to do back in high school. Now, especially being pregnant, I don’t find it that attractive. I also feel like the majority of girls who have belly button rings are the ones who should keep their shirts on lol. Sorry, I’m not saying that everyone who does is trashy or skanky, just something I’ve noticed around my area.

Id have one if I could show off my belly but I had a baby 6 years ago and my belly looks awful… It kind of bothers me the tattoos/hair/piercings thing is still an issue… nobody should be judged on how they look dress or think is beautiful… I happen to love my ever changing hair my tattoos and my gauges.
