So, I absolutely despise belts or whatever you want to call the thing that looks like a belt on the waist of this dress. But I really like this dress and it’s in stock at a local bridal shop where I live. Do you guys think that belt-thing would be able to be removed?

Probably. Best to try on the dress and ask

I will be! I get really impatient trying stuff on and I don’t particularly enjoy shopping (I know, I am weird), so I am trying to scope out what local bridal shops have on their websites before I go into the store.

I tried this dress on and from memory it wasn’t separate but that doesn’t mean they won’t be able to remove it.

Most crystal belts are just applique’d on, meaning it’s just stitched on top of the dress. I did some of the alterations on my dress myself (Hayley Paige Opal gown, if you wanted to know what that belt looks like), and it was remarkably easy with a seam ripper. You can even use a pair of scissors. However, if the belt is part of the dress structure/seams, it will be very difficult. Looks like yours is probably easy to remove.

Looking at that dress, I’d hazard a guess that that belt covers a join between the bodice and skirt, which might look odd exposed.
