I love black Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses! I think if you have nice bright springy flowers it wont look bad at all.

I’m considering black or gray for mine. Black just seems easier to pick out on their own.

I love black, personally. I think if you’re going for a classic/chic/historic vibe–which it sounds like you are–it’ll work just fine. At the end of the day, the colors are what you and your future husband want, so I wouldn’t let any negative opinions sway you if you’re sure. You have to look at the pictures forever…for everyone else, it’s just a day and they’ll get over it.

I think blush is much nicer for a spring wedding than black, and black would look too sombre and depressing especially when your guys are all wearing black. It’s like everyone is black except for you!

Blush would go well with a rustic country theme too 🙂

My personal opinion is for you to select a colour and a hem length. It will look odd with some long and some knee length. Just a thought.

Navy might be a nice compromise, its dark with not as dark as black.

Black can look very fresh – think Kate Spade! So much of her stuff features large amounts of black with pops of white and vibrant colors.

My best friend’s sister got married in late March and she had black bridesmaid dresses. She had bright flowers. I never gave it a second thought to be honest. If you like it, go for it!

I think Blush is more fitting for a spring wedding 🙂

A good friend of mine had her bridal party pick their own black knee length dresses, it was a June wedding. They carried vibrant purple bouquets and I think it looked great!

sunnierdaysahead2 :  I don’t think you need to make your colors springy if you don’t want springy.  Blush is very on trend right now anyway, so if you want to be a little more unique, another color would be a better option.  My wedding was in June and the gals wore navy.  Suits us!

But… black suits and black dresses does seem a bit dark overall.  Are there any other colors you might consider? gray or a really rich deep red or purple?  Still very classy.  And if you do go with black, absolutely brighten it up with your flowers and/or shoes.  Red flowers in the hair, even could look great.
