- Wedding: February 2014 - Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts
I think they are worth it. I have been to four but I probably won’t go to anymore. My bridesmaids couldn’t attend each one together, so basically I took one to each show I attended. But I was able to meet multiple vendors (photographers, videographers, reception venues, and caterers) at once. And all the vendors I have decided to work with have come from me seeing them at the bridal shows. Plus this last one I attended I received a $50 off certificate of my reception venue. It doesn’t seem like that much but hey thats a pair of heels. Lol!

IT’S WORTH IT! Every bridal show I have been to I have won something. The first bridal show I went to I won $300 off a venue and a financial advisory book. We didn’t book that venue because it was too out of the way for our guests and it wasn’t my style (barnyard wedding). The second bridal show I went to I won champagne glasses (good gift for the in-laws!!!) and something else I can’t think of at this moment. The last bridal show I went to though, took the cake. I won my venue completely free!!! And it was my style! The venue is worth 4K so I saved $4000!!! How is that not worth it?
Also, I met with some really nice potential vendors while there. I got to sample cakes, wine and food from caterers. It’s fun, and I also got to see a fashion show with dresses for all of the Bridal Party and tuxes for the men. They also give you TONS of freebies and coupons in a bag.

I went to one and I felt it was entirely a waste of time, but it’s kind of like walking through a wedding classifieds for all the most obvious stuff you already know about. Maybe thats useful to some.
I guess I was hoping there would be these awesome vendors doing awesome stuff I hadn’t heard of before and at great prices to boot…
Yeah there was none of that. Complete waste of time.
I only went to one, so YMMV.

I believe bridal shows are beneficial to some people. I went to one and I hated it. If you have zero vendors lined up and are looking for some, it’s a great place to find them. I would suggest not registering if you don’t have to. That way you don’t get all of the junk mail/email from them. It is super annoying.

I went to two of them. None of the vendors I used were ones I found at the shows.
One of them was so crowded DH and I started having anxiety attacks and had to leave. It was a freaking bridal stampede. This was after I pre-registered ahead of time online to get a discount. Well, turns out they sent coupons in the mail to everyone else who did. I never got mine, and had to pay full price at the door because they didn’t keep a list of those who signed up early.
