I think its always a bit of a gamble to order online, alot of those websites sell replica dresses rather than originals, although a few brides do claim to have good experiences with them..

@kellie1986: there are a lot of personal reviews about the a lot of the individual websites on here. If you have one in mind, search in the ‘search’ bar on the right, and a lot of reviews and comments will come up.

Good luck!

Im happy with dressily.com and milanoo.com–  I can send you photos of what I have received.  The trick is not to order anything too ornate, and to manage your expectations.  But for less than 200$ you can get a nice dress.

Are you trying to purchase via a Chinese replica dress vendor or an online boutique?  I am having a reception dress made by Chinese vendor, Duosheng, and purchased my wedding gown via mydreamdress.com.  I’ve had a great experience but I’m an online shopper.

I ordered mine from TheCustomDress.com the last week in December and I received the dress the last week in january.  I love it, and it was only $199!!!  The were great to work with and they were quick to answer my e-mails very quickly.  No complaints from me w/ this China vendor.  Good luck!!!

A Bee just showcased her dress from Jeff Liu and it included lace.  Check out @adwc, she’s purchased several dresses from different vendors.  Here’s the vendor who have received good reviews:

Landy Bridal- Has a forum on projectwedding.com as well

Jeff Liu(Some bad reviews)

Duosheng(Ebay store)- A little more expensive.  Will have my dress next wk.(Can’t wait)

Milly Bridal- Excellent work w/ Beading but can take a longer time to get.- Has a forum on projectwedding.com as well.

If you use these vendors, I don’t think you’ll have an issue.  Just ordered early so if there are any issues, you can get a dress elsewhere.

If you are looking for a real Maggie, try preownedweddingdresses.com.  That’s how I found my Girl.  Authentic sample dress for 85% off.

PM if you need more info.

Just be careful and make sure to buy with a credit card, AMEX is the best with dealing with credit refunds. There are more than plenty of reviews for counterfeit dresses on this website, just search for the company or person.

I was wondering the same thing! My co-worker purchased her wedding and bridesmaid dresses from Helene Bridals. I wonder if she is actually going to get anything or be happy with the results.

I bought mine from Lily’s Online Bridal, I wrote about it here. http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/lilys-online-bridal

I had a few problems with them taking ages to finish my dress and it needed some alteration but I couldn’t be happier now that it is all altered. My wedding is less than two weeks away and I’m really pleased I went the online route. My advice is just to try on plenty of things so you know what you like best before you order online and to give yourself plenty of time before your wedding. And find a good tailor for when it comes in!

I feel its all about the choice and finding the reviews that match the style of dress you are looking for. For example, if you are intrested in lace, beading, chiffon, satin…make sure you seek out a good reliable vendor that has sample pics with this material. A great vendor will have a supply of images that can help make you, the customer feel comfrotable.

As squeak35 pointed out ^_^. I have purchased 3 dresses from two different vendors. I did plenty of research and noticed that my 1st dress was a mistake because I had never seen a lace gown from this vendor. I trusted in what they described for materials and excepted a lack of communication. (aprilsbridal/jeffliu ***my experience seems to be different from most however, its similar to another bee that received the same crappy materials)

My postive experience was with dressilyme and I truly appreciate everythng about the company. I loved their service, efficiency, and their quality. If you would like to hear more you can check out my reviews.

I have seen some amazing work from many other bees from their company. Duosheng smtweddingstore on Ebay, seems to be doing wonderful work for many ladies on the board. I think they are gaining a nice reputation. However, since I didn’t work with them personally I can’t speak for them officially.

I would say trust your gut, do your research, and don’t accept less from the company.

Reviews on ebay mean nothing ladies! Just trust your communication with the seller themself.

That way you wont receive an unworthy dress from China.

I ordered a dress from China, and was very happy with it, but I don’t know if it was a replica of anything.

Hi there

I decided to get the dress of my dreams via a chinese based (US front) website Store of Dress.  I asked all the right questions but got a terrible product that they wont take responsibility for and am out of pocket to the tune of $380 (+$45 for setting up the website).  I’m not saying that others shouldn’t go down the “cheap from china” route but I would like to suggest you visit my website first before you make your mind up.

http://www.storeofdressreview.com

Any good review about the site are all but certainly written by the woman herself!

I’m doing what I should have done from the start.  Looking at some lovely ready to wear dresses by the likes of http://www.bhldn.com and in the high street + going on the second hand /sample wedding dress websites.

cheers

Cherie
