I dont think so. It’s creative, cost effective, and fun! and if you look under Falll wedding ideas on any wedidng website they have lots of ideas.

I think if you just mean the round, bauble type ornaments in the fall colors, I dont see why not. If you mean the kind with Santa and candy canes in glitter on them…not so much. You could also use some fall veggies like baby pumpkins, squash  or fall leaves and such to make it less Christmas and more fall. Browse the after Christmas sales this year and find some ornaments in the colors you like and just try it out to see how you like it!

Since they will likely look like ornaments no matter the color, I would figure out a way to bring in the fall with them. Maybe some choice branches or leaves? or a raffia bed underneath so it peaks through?

Can you just use decorate balls instead? Or be sure to hide the tops of them so they just look like decorate balls? So maybe use some foliage and leaves to hide the tops?

I love the idea! I was looking up some images on google and they are super cute but I would probably lean towards more fall colors. Have you considered pinecones or something like that to fill a vase? What are your colors?

Have you considered floating candles? I’m using floating candles, marbles and fake rose petals 🙂

I like this idea, I think your within the season so it’s okay to use the round type ornaments, and I agree with PP that said mixing in baby pumpkins, etc would be really cute.

You could do something like this and not have it be Christmas-y

I like this idea!  Something I have considered for my fall centerpieces is to include cranberries – you could find a way to do a combination that would look cute.  Just a thought!  I might steal this idea for my cake table 🙂  Oh.. some cranberry inspirtation..

Sounds gorgeous! Go for it. I’ve seen lots of ornaments that are much better suited for fall, due to the color choices, than for Christmas.

SO glad I wasnt crazy for wanting to do this. I am going to make one similar to the purple/gold one posted. Except mine will be black/white/gold with white large pomnders on top. My only question is is it OK to glue the flowers on top?

@MrsManni:  I am totally stealing that idea.  We were going to use rocks, etc. in the vases.  But cranberries is a much, much better option!

We’re also hoping to incorporate some pinecones.
