i think it depends on the cut. My cushion “out sparkles” most RBs I see on fingers. 🙂

I don’t know if there is a % out there somewhere, but I would not say significant.  I have 2 cushion diamonds and they both sparkle like crazy.  As long as it is well cut, I would not worry.  🙂

It’s all about cut with a cushion- I always wanted a cushion- we never looked at anything else- we went with a stone that is white, bright, and so so sparkly. It sparkles even on a cloudy rainy day!

Shane86:  not significant but a RB will always be the most sparkly bc of all the cuts in it. But I love my cushion, it sparkles like crazy!

Shane86:  RB has more facets, so all things being 100% equal, an RB will sparkle more than a cushion.

That being said, I have a well cut cushion and I love it. It sparkles like crazy and more than RBs that aren’t as well cut. A lot of the sparkle that diamonds give off is from the cut, so no matter what, I would just focus on getting a well cut diamond.

I have never held my cushion cut diamond e-ring next to a ring with a round diamond. I think it sparkles just fine!

There are so many factors that go into the “sparkliness” of diamonds that I think it depends but my dad is a jewelry store owner and doesn’t recommend cushion cuts for that reason.

I had a super-white, E-color RB from a prior relationship.  However, it didn’t sparkle the way my cushion does!  Like the previous posters said, it’s all about how well the diamond is cut.

Round Brilliant has more facets in it which is what it needs for light refraction, so the RB will be more sparkly, the arrangements of the facets in a round are mathematically calculated to create the most sparkle.

Like a previous poster said, I haven’t compared mine to a round of equal quality, but I have no regrets about going with a cushion and it is very sparkly!

My friend has a cushion and mine is round. She has said she thinks hers sparkles less, but it doesn’t look like it to me

In a totally non technical explanation, to me it just seems like they sparkle differently. Not more or less just different.
