I’ve been researching and it depends. If you’re going to a resort and getting married on the beach just the two of you, it’s much cheaper than throwing a wedding for 50+ people at home. If you’re having a destination wedding where guests fly out, catering, music, photographer, etc. it winds up being much more expensive than doing the same thing at home.

Artie52:  Where are you getting married in Italy if you don’t mind me asking??? I had my heart set on Greece, but with everything going on there it’s making me worry.

Eam2068:  South of Florence, right in the heart of Tuscany.  The weather won’t be super pleasant, mid-50s, but it was the right time of year for us.  We had school breaks to consider, and we didn’t want to wait until christmas holidays.  That would have been too hectic.  We’re missing a lot of the heavy tourism times, and prices for everything are way cheaper.  We’re spending a few days in greece the week after for our honeymoon week, so all the stuff going on is making me pretty nervous too.  If nothing else, they certainly need the small economy boost you’d provide.
