herecomesthebride625:  we didn’t do engagement photos and I don’t regret it so I would save the money. You’re about to have more pictures of yourself than you’ll know what to do with anyways!

herecomesthebride625:  I am delaying my photos to the spring (late August wedding) I want to practice with the photographer prior to the wedding. I am very picky when it comes to pictures

herecomesthebride625:  We didn’t plan on doing a super professional engementment shoot session with our photog. Instead, we did a quick engagement shoot session with DH’s BIL’s cousin who does photography on the side and was coming to town to take some 2-year photos of one of our nephews. She had done some family photoes for my in-laws the year before, so we had worked with her previously and those turned out nicely.

Our pics were OK, and I mainly wanted some for our photo guest book album. We got enough to fill the book with a few on every other page, and for the price (around $60)… they worked. I only really only LOVED a couple of the 20+ images she gave us.

Looking back, I kind of wished we had done them with our photog… but oh well. I have one displayed now, but most of our photos are from our wedding.

herecomesthebride625:  Married 6 months, but more importantly, we took our engagement pictures a month before the wedding. We had an 11 month engagement, didn’t want to do winter pics, then between his job, showers and a move 3 hours away, it was our only chance.

Anyway, I opted out of a bridal session. I had no need for 100+ pictures of just me in my dress. But I wanted the engagement pictures because they’re they best pictures of my Darling Husband and I together. I consider it more of our first “family picture”. We also used a lot of the prints and had them framed and placed around the reception, a big one was used at the rehearsal dinner, and now we have a couple framed around our home. Our parents/family took the others.

The $100 off is tempting, but are you going to save it? or justify just using it towards something else? Pictures are something you get to keep. And $100 is a steal for an engagement session. I think ours was around $300 when priced separately out of our package
