I need a little advice… I was planning on doing submerged orchid in tall vases for my centerpieces. I stumbled upon a picture from our rental companies website. They do the same with fake flowers and the prices are no more than 35$. Is it bad to use fake stems? will it be that noticeable? Just seems a shame to pay so much more for flowers that will get thrown away after anyways. Here are the pictures of some examples…

I don’t think they are too bad. I would prefer that over fake flowers in regular vases. If thats what you can afford, then do it 🙂
I’m also struggling with using real flowers, just because they don’t last forever.. But if they are already cut and inexpensive, I might as well use them!

We’re using fake ones and we’re very happy with them. Water fluffs them up nicely, and they are MUCH more affordable. If you’re using colored flowers though, I did see on another thread that sometimes they bleed, so soak them first.

I think it looks beautiful. I was at a fancy wedding in Toronto and the bride told me that all the beautiful decorations were DIY from the Dollar store supplies. The submerged flowers in tall vases were amazing, I would have never known that they didn’t spend a fortune on them if she didn’t tell me.

as long as theyre good quality, convincing fakes, I dont mind. Michaels has some so real looking I challenge anyone to tell, especially underwater!

Just make sure if they are colored they don’t dye the water.

I think it is much harder to tell in water… And who really looks that close anyway? Do fake and save money. I am doing fake as well.

I didn’t even realize the ones in the pictures you posted were fake. They look great! Full disclosure, I’m not a fan of the submerged flowers. In our florial trial, they mocked some up (real submerged orchids) for me, and I thought they looked like they were drowning. So, maybe the fake ones don’t wilt as much and actually look better than real ones underwater!
