No, they are classic, elegant, and timeless.

Yes, they are out of style.

I don’t think it, in any way, looks natural BUT I like it nonetheless. I always have my nails squared off, natural or fake, because that’s the shape I think looks best. Long, natural nails looks really gross IMO so I am opting for fake, squared off ones and I’ve never once thought that they look trashy or outdated. I keep them plain and relatively short…I’ve only ever received compliments on them.

I think a sheer nude or pinky nude (like Essie Ballet Slippers) would be more classic and timeless.

@BlondeMissMolly  French tips on toes are the worst! Nobody should have toenails that long. Yuck yuck yuck.

So ladies who said they are outdated…. I am wondering what you recommend – I am trying to decide as well!

Honestly, I’m not into French manis. I don’t think they’re outdated or trashy or anything, just a personal preference.

I’m an Essie fan, and I plan to use one of the following shades for my big day mani/pedi: Starter Wife, Topless & Barefoot, or Au Natural.

These are all barely there sheer pinks and beiges 🙂

@bebero  +1, I agree that they are tacky and outdated. It’s like painting your nails to make them look clean. Eww.

I absolutely LOVE french manicures, when they’re done right. I actually got press on nails with super short tips so they looked natural (I bite my real nails). I can’t stand super long nails anyway, but entensive length with a french tip just looks awkward to me.

Here’s a pro picture from our wedding with my nails.

When done in a classy fashion, no they will never go out of style.

Now, if I could stop biting my nails……..

Real, natural looking French manicures are always classic.

Big, fake, glowing white tips are out.

I definitely don’t think they’re out of style. I do, however, think that people are just finding creative ways of dressing them up nowadays. I love me some glitter!

@letigre  I love Ballet Slippers. Another really pretty one by Essie is Delicacy. It’s the perfect sheer pink shade.

P.S. Is your avatar pic the Sahara shoe by ShoeDazzle by any chance? 🙂

@AlwaysSunny  I agree with this 100%. Long French manis are out, but the shorter ones are classic and hence timeless. Long nails aren’t very popular nowadays it seems – except for stiletto nails. It’s more about being shorter, neater, and more colorful (hence Essie’s success).
