Hi everyone. I have made a similar post in the “fuller figure” section but no one has replied yet!
I was wondering if anybody has bought a mermaid style dress and had issues with comfort? I am a size 16 UK (which I think is a 12US?) and I am 5’7. I am very hippy and have a big bum but I love my curves and so does my man so I want something tight arround my hips/bum area. I don’t want it so tight that I can’t sit down.
The problem is, I have found THE dress but it’s online so I can’t try it on and their returns policy is rubbish! I don’t want to buy it and then find out discomfort is common!
Hope this makes sence!

@Minxy1984: i had a mermaid dress and it was very uncomfortable. I could barely sit down in it. When you do your hip measurements, measure it whilst sitting down and not standing up and that should give you the correct measurement so that it is more comfortable

That’s a really good idea! Will it then make my dress baggy though? I don’t want a wobbly belly! ha! Do you think I should measure standing and sitting and go between the two?

I am a 16 UK as well and I was very uncomfortable but any fully boned dress will be uncomfortable. It’s worth it! I had mine taken out at the hips slightly and then just hoiked it up a little to sit down. THIS was so uncomfortable!
But this wasn’t too uncomfortable

Wow! Love those pics!!! Where were you married? Love your dress too!
Yea I guess wedding dresses arn’t made for comfort!
I guess I could get someone to adjust the dress if it doesn’t fit?
