I went for my first fitting, and my Maid/Matron of Honor is now suggesting that maybe my earrings are too big and that I also need a necklace. when I asked my Mom what she thought, she said the earrings are slightly large, but I should wear what I want. The gown is very simple and really needs some strong bling, I think. But I’m not sure i want a necklace???
Here is a photo of me at the fitting. Please ignore the no makeup/humidity head and that the gown is HUGE.

Are you going to be wearing your hair down? I think sometimes when you have it up and you can get away with the bigger ear rings, but with it down, i’m not sure.

I would add a necklace. Maybe a solitaire drop pendant that would hit about an inch above your freckle. =]
In my personal taste, however, I don’t really think you need to “bling” up your look just to add to your simple dress. I would match the simple dress with simple accesories for a more cohesive look. Although, those earrings are gorg.

I think the earrings look fine. I would skip the necklace and go with a lovely bracelet perhaps.

It will be half up/down. No other hair accessory except the veil. I tried a crystal barrette and it was way too much. I do have a bracelet, too.

There is no such thing as too big! It is our ability to accessorize that separates us from the animals! (Steel Magnolias!)

It really depends on your style. For me they would be to big. Also, the first thing I noticed in your picture were the earrings; not you, but I don’t know if that was because of your post title or because they are to big.

I actually think those earrings are beautiful and not large at all! Maybe even some bigger. (everything is bigger in Texas YEE HAW LOL)

@Mrs.MedinaJr: I completely agree! I’m a big fan of big earrings.
My dress is pretty simply too, but I have big earrings (about 1.5″ above the shoulders) and a three-strand pear and crystal bracelet. I love accessories, which is why I opted for simpler dress and more exciting jewelry. I would say ultimately it’s about reflecting your style within your “bridal style.” Do what makes you comfortable!

Thanks, Ladies! I think the issue is that my Maid/Matron of Honor and of course, my Mom, are older and expect pearls and semure jewelry, and I like chunkier accessories.
I’m going with it- thanks again!

There’s no such thing as earrings that are too big. LOL!
I think you look good. How will you wear your hair?

I think half up/down like in the phot (except a lot neater, of course)!
