When guests open my envelope they will see the RSVP post card and the invitation (with the tissue paper in front of them). I’ve been looking online to see what order the RSVP and invitation go and I noticed almost all of the ones I’ve seen have the main envelope and insider is another envelope with the invitation in it and a smaller one with the RSVP.
Are mine informal or odd?

My invitation is the first thing a person sees when they open their invitation. And tucked behind it is the RSVP card, which is tucked under the fold of the RSVP envelope. I would put the RSVP card behind the invitation. The invitation is the thing you want guests to pull out or see first.

The RSVP/response card is supposed to go on top of the invitation, but if I wasn’t doing a pocketfold, I think I’d do invite first because I’m non traditional and I think it looks better.

I didn’t really look for instructions on invitations, actually, since I was banding them or wrapping them or putting them in pocketfolds. I have the invitation, an back-to-back enclosure card with info on the post-wedding BBQ and hotel info, and then behind those two things, is the RSVP.
If that’s wrong, well, I don’t want to be right! Haha.
