It really depends on your friends.  I had a photobooth with props at my wedding and all my younger (late 20s early 30s) friends loved it.  My older family also used it quite a bit,  but they are goofy, gregarious Italians…. it really just depends on their personalities.

Depends on what your friends are like.  If they’re zany party people, they’ll love them.  If they tend to be stiff and reserved even after a glass of merlot, than probably not.  I think it’s more about the personality of the guests than their age.

@goodgenie:  Yeah, I think people of all ages love photobooth props, it just depends on their personalities. And, the don’t have to use them.

I didn’t even have to read the ages to say “no one is too old for photo props!” If they some guests don’t like them, they don’t have to use them, but weddings bring out the fun in people and I bet the majority of your guests will use them.

Don’t think twice about this.

If I were at a wedding with a photo booth, I’d skip the prop box. But I’m sure I’d be in pictures with people wearing the props. No one has to use them, but I’ve seen pictures where the grandparents were rocking the funny hats and glasses, so go for it 🙂

Does this answer your question?

We had guests of all ages in our photo booth and they had a blast with the props. I’ll echo the PP’s… you’re never too old for props!

We had awesome retro ski wear props (we are skiers and it was a mountain winter wedding) and people had a blast…..young and old.  We did have chalkboards and empty picture frames for the tamer people who didn’t want to dress up.  For the most part people used all of them!

Go for it…they make for awesome pictures!  I love ours.

@goodgenie:  It has nothing to do with age and everything to do with personality. 😉  I’m 28 and I don’t like that type of thing (I wouldn’t have liked it when I was 10 either though lol).  My Grandma is 70 and would absolutely love it.  I’m sure your Fiance is just the type who’s not into it and I’m sure you’ll have some guests aren’t into it.  Don’t let that stop you from doing it if you think it’ll be fun though.  I think it could be really great and you’d probably get some really awesome pictures out of it.  I say go for it girl! 🙂

We’re having a “fauxto” booth (a room set up for pictures with our 2nd photographer) and my39-year-old fiance just loves it when I show him the props I found–I can’t wait to see the crazy pictures he comes up with!  As others have said, it’s all about the personalities.  I’ve got a 70-year-old aunt who is probably going to be the life of the party (as far as the photo booth).

We’re also going to be making it clear to people that they are welcome to take serious pictures as well–since it’s a gathering of family, it’s a great opportunity for formal portraits with a skilled photographer.

I’m 40, and I would love this. As long as I’m tipsy!
