@chelseahurtado89:  My vote is no.  I thought they were necessary and we had a Catholic ceremony thinking we absolutely had to have them.  We had more than half left over after.  Save yourself some time and money.

I don’t know if they are necessary, but I always notice when they are missing and a dissapointed if I don’t know who everybody is.

Have you thought of doing something like a chalkboard with everything on it so you only have to make one? 🙂

I made our programs and thought they were nice to have, to give some credit to the people that were helping out + make it easier for the guest to follow the ceremony. But necessary is to stretch it… nice but not a must!

Totally not necessary. I like designing/making things like that so I’ll probably print some up, but otherwise I wouldn’t have.

I’m planning on making a big poster listing the wedding party, officiant, and parents and propping it on an easel at the entrance to the ceremony. If we were having a unique ceremony with lots of different parts, I would consider programs, but we’re not doing anything wacky or out of the ordinary

I wouldn’t say that programs are necessary, but I’m glad we’re having them. Ours explain each Jewish element for those who may not be Jewish or who already know what things are.

They aren’t necessary. I might have some if I get a good vistaprint groupon before the wedding. If not, people have our website if they wanna know anything.

@chelseahurtado89:  I think it is nice to let guests know who your bridal party is, and the parents and grandparents names.  Will people save them after the ceremony?  Probably not – but they will be read during.

Programs no. Order of service with word to hymn yes.

I wouldn’t btoher unless you want your guests to sing.

I have only been to one other wedding that had programs and it was my sister in laws.  My mom insisted we have them and she just typed them up on her computer and bought some nice paper to print them on. If you decide to have them just do them yourself and safe money.

For the most part no, they are not necessary.  I don’t think every guest needs a piece of paper with the wedding parties names and relation to the couple, or that the bride’s sister is singing XYZ song during the sand ceremonty etc.

The only time I think they are helpful is if you are having a very culturally traditional wedding in a language not spoke by the majority of the guests.  Having a program to describe the sigificance of the cultural traditions and help me follow along if I don’t speak the language would be nice.

I like to have programs if something is long, reading them keeps my mind from awndering. If its less than half an hour don’t bother!
