I say if that’s what you want, go for it.  I don’t think they are too traditional every wedding is completely different.  Ivory roses would be beautiful I think!

Roses are beautiful! So what if they are traditional? 🙂

Ask your florist about the wax flower. If you google it, a bunch of images come up that don’t look at all like the wax flower my florist showed me! They are woody and really nice- a more unique touch.

I’d say it’s impossible to be too traditional when it comes to a wedding. You can get roses in so many varieties and colors, you can definitely make it unique and modern. I’d say for a winter wedding why not use baby’s breath? It looks like snow 🙂

We used black magic roses in our wedding. I thought at first that they were too “typical” but they were gorgeous. I’m so glad we went that route.

If roses are what you want, then do roses.

This was the theme of our wedding. I have a thing for blue roses (including a tattoo)

I still don’t have my pro pics back yet. I stole this from a guest…lol.

roses make me think of romance…. i will be having roses and calla lillies for my bouquet, i love both these flowers and am also having a winter wedding.

my other favourite flowers are tulips and chrysanthemums but i don’t think they will fit in a winter wedding to well.

just go with what you love, and roses aren’t traditional they are timeless

I didn’t pick roses for this reason, I wanted something different but when I was looking at flowers there where some pretty cool roses that didn’t look traditional at all! I say if you love them then go for it!

To me Roses are the cadillac of flowers.  They’re beautiful.  They can be used so many ways and come in so many different colors. If we had more money in our floral budget we would have them everywhere.  As it is, we’ll have them in my bouquet and that’s it.

I think the arrangement is the most important thing about floral.  You can have very traditional to very modern, avant garde designs.  And no, I don’t think roses are too traditional.  I think they are timeless classics.

I love roses!  I’m doing roses with hypericum for my centerpieces, something like this:

I think roses are also gorgeous with dusty miller:
