I went with roses all the way for my wedding. There is nothing like a big, heavy, fragrant bouquet of real roses!

I thought roses were too cliched, but when I started doing research for my flowers, I realised I kept being drawn towards them. So that’s what I’m going with. They’re timeless and gorgeous.

If you want to add something different to it, how about berries (which would bring in the purple), or rolled magnolia leaves (for a touch of brown)?

@kettle: just a headsup – since your date is SUPER close to Valentine’s day … roses will most likely be at a premium…just food for thought, perhaps?

Classics like roses will come and go from the trend spotlight, but they will never be one of those flowers that you’ll be sorry fo having chosen since they’ll always come back in every few years! I’d say go for it!

Roses are so timeless and classic.  And usually they’re one of the most affordable flowers for wedding planning, although I do agree with PP about the VDay price inflation….

@bebefly: Good point. I’m getting married around Valentine’s Day too and my florist mentioned that I will be paying a bit more for roses at that time of year.

You can’t go wrong with roses! We added in LOADS of winter greenery, ferns and stems and they looked really nice in our bouquets (in my humble opinion, of course!) 🙂

The other flowers she mixed in that were in season in our winter were freesia.. and babys breath!

I love red roses! Red is probably wo a doubt the most traditional of all, but I dont care plus being unique isnt unique anymore bc everyone is doing it, being classical n traditional is unique!
