@AvantLaLettre: You know its really funny, i wouldn’t risk this…i know alot of lotions have been have to be teratogenic, so i would probably avoid…….but if you asked me if i’ll be indulging in an occasional glass or wine during pregnancy i’d say hell yes!  I guess i have a double standard, and i’m not sure why!

I’m sure it will be fine, and definitely talk to your doctor about it – and do make sure to get out in the sun a little bit to build up those natural vitamin D stores!

It is hard sometimes. Ask 10 different doctors and you will get at least 8 different answers.

I dyed my hair, used self tanners, and did all that kind of stuff while I was preggo. I didn’t drink alcohol at all though. My thinking is that hair dye and tanners etc are on the outside of your body and don’t actually go through to the baby, where as alcohol/ certain foods do. This is what my doctor told me and my son is 100% healthy.

Personally, since the self tanners are a bit new to the market, I decided it wasn’t really worth it to use them all the time.  I will put some on my legs occassionally, but I believe anything in moderation is probably fine.  So as long as you aren’t coating yourself in it every time you shower you should be fine!
