so I’ve been thinking I’d like to do a shellac mani for my wedding so my nails will stay nice throughout the wedding and honeymoon. Normal polish chips in just a day or two on me which is so frustrating. I’m thinking of going tomorrow to get a shellac manicure to try it out and as something fun. It’s about $35 so I’m just wondering if it’s really worth it. Ill probably get either a French mani or a pale pink. If anyone has pictures of their shellac manicures I’d love to see them.

Yes. I got my first mani done awhile ago (haha don’t judge!) and got shellac – lasted 3 weeks

Totally worth it. I never get regular manicures anymore. I love shellac. With a light color, I’ve had it last up to two weeks and only took it off because my nails were growing.

Absolutely!! I am really rough on my hands and they still last 3 weeks.

Yes, worth it! I’m pretty active and rough on my nails, and even still I find it would last 10 days minimum before any chipping. I don’t get my nails done often since they’re usually pretty short, but it’s a nice treat when I do. See how you like it, and post pics so we can see how they turned out. 🙂
Here’s a picture of a nude/pink color on my SUPER short nails. I wanted something neutral, and I love the high shine!

Yes, I have been getting them every 2-3 weeks for years. No more regular manicures since I disvovered these.

Yes yes yes.
I always have shellac and haven’t looked back!
Mine NEVER chip and I get them done every 3 weeks

Yep! I go every two weeks! I would never get another regular mani again.

I’m the same way, OP, regular polish lasts 2 days if I’m lucky. I got my first gel/shellac mani for the wedding, and it lasted almost 2 weeks. Subsequent ones have lasted closer to a week to 10 days.
I don’t get my nails done regularly, so I splurge for special occasions (plus there’s always Groupons for that kind of stuff) and get them. It’s easier than trying to time doing my nails for a special date. But if they aren’t done right (kept away from the cuticles, etc) I have had them come off in a day or 2, so it’s definitely worth finding someone you like to do them ahead of time to test it out, and maybe to test out different brands (I have better luck with Gelish than with OPI, for example).

It’s definitely worth it, but my nails don’t react well to them so I only get them once or twice a year. They get super thin and take awhile to get strong again. But Shellac definitely lasts way longer, and look so shiny and pretty! I would do a pretty pink- I think the color shellac looks better than the French tip, but I’m not sure why. I think it stems from my first shellac mani being a French tip, but it was super messy and looked terrible and I was stuck with it since it didn’t chip off, lol!

Definitely do the shellac/gel. Polish for me chips in 3 days, and the gel manicure literally lasts 3 weeks for me. So. Worth. It.

Yup, definitely worth it.
