- Wedding: September 2012
I’ve struggled a lot with keeping my nautical theme formal and timeless…
I am notoriously comical and out going and fun but for my wedding I wanted it to feel fancy & formal and then have that fun come out in the personality of the people hehe
Basically the goofy me in a fancy package… it IS a wedding after all right?
This is the GMs navy suits/vest combo:
and the BMs will wear these floor length gold gowns:
and I will be in this POB beauty:
Anyway… because the nautical theme can be very casual, I have struggled with the flower girl and ring bearers and how I want to dress them…
Should they be just as formal or are they my chance to have a little fun with the theme?
I think I want this for the Ring Bearer cuz its quite formal & very nautical…
I have a size 5 and a size 12 for FGs so this ready-made nautical dress I found on eBay won’t work due to sizing:
I was looking on J.Crew and found these striped dresses that come in the sizes I need…
Do you think I could wrap a Gold ribbon around the middle and have it look cute & formal enough or is it a stretch?
I also found two of these Us Angels champagne dresses from Nordstroms for a good price
but I feel like I’m not completely happy with them because they lack the nautical element… even tho they are champagne/gold so they fit that way… I don’t know…
Do any of you have any other ideas about flower girl dresses that can be made nautical?
Should I just get some a navy blue dress with white or gold sash:
and use a rope belt (from etsy) around their waists?
….think that would look nice?
or maybe just use a plain white one and use striped ribbon around the waist:
Please let me know your thoughts bees!
