I tried on a Nicole Miller dress at a boutique in Manhattan this weekend and think I want to get it. But at the retail price of $1650, I thought I’d check online to see if I could get it for less.
I found these sites:
The picture of the dress is up there, but the price seems too good to be true ($289.99) as compared to the original. Does anyone know if these sites are trustworthy?

I got a dress from lightinthebox.com (from china) I love my dress! Most of the places who use the original designers photos the dresses will not be the same or anything like them.

There are a couple kinds of online bridal discount stores. The first kind offers true discount services. They are brick & mortar stores located in the U.S. that offer dresses at a discount for online orders. An example of this is JayBridals.net. This store is located in Florida but has an online ordering system that will sell you authentic designer gowns at 25%-30% off retail.
Then there are designer replica websites. These are often factories located in China that will replicate any gown you choose at a considerably cheaper price. Some brides have luck with them, others don’t. It really depends on the cut/style/detail of your gown. I think the websites you posted above fall under this category.
Have you looked at used wedding dress websites like OnceWed, RecycledBride, BravoBride, PreownedWeddingDresses.com. You might find your dress on there at a deep discount.

NetBride is based here in Minneapolis, and on our Yelp it has a five star rating. I have heard about a lot of brides getting really sweet deals from them.
