I didn’t buy an Anne Barge dress, but there were a number of them that I tried on at the Filene’s Basement sale in my area this summer. I thought they were gorgeous, well-made dresses that were very flattering. Definitely classic sihouettes. I tried on a satin dress from her that was a candlelight color (almost beige), that had a split neck, was a formfitting (but not too tight) shape, and pockets! I was so into those pockets. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ve looked at the collections online and sometimes think I shoulda, coulda, woulda…. ๐Ÿ™‚

So which one did you get? Let us see! ๐Ÿ™‚

I swoon over her dresses, but I couldn’t ask my grandmother to pay for an Anne Barge dress, so I never bothered trying them on (didn’t want to fall in love and not be able to get one).  I ended up with a Tara Keely dress.

@Topolino: Thanks! I have been a fan of hers for years.  When I went to Running of the Brides, every dress I pulled was AB–didn’t realize it until I got in the fitting room.  Unfortunately I haven’t met her.  I had originally made an appointment (they were working out the corporate offices at the time).  However, we had some major plumbing problems so I canceled and never went back–too worried about house stuff to spend the money.  I found mine on http://www.yourdreamdress.com. Please post pictures of your head piece!  I am dying to see it.

@pdescenza: You look stunning as well!

Pictures do not do these dresses justice.  There is a smudge mark just below the waist of my dress, where every woman in the place fingered the fabric.   For as many times as my train was stepped on, there wasn’t a loose bead or anything missing.
