Like most people, I hate any names of an ex (mine and FI’s). I also loathe Britany, Brianna, Mercedes, Portia, Brendon, Brenton and there are probably more, lol.

When my mom was pregnant with my brother, she suggested the name “Mark” to my dad. My dad, and English teacher, threw down the essay he was looking over and yelled “All I ever f*cking do is mark!” and stormed out. Needless to say, my brother’s name is not Mark.

I can’t stand the name Cory. It sounds whiny to me. So do Brittany, Jean, Martha, Stephanie and Lisa. I also have horrible associations with the name Adam.

@Daizy914:  We were talking names the other day, and I mentioned that I like Anna, but DH’s ex is named that and we both thought it would be a bit weird. Same with Chris – I like the name but my ex is called that!

My ex was abusive and I cannot stand his name. Like, if I make friends with someone with his first name, I call them by a nickname or their last name! It just gives me the chills when I hear it.

Jayden, Brayden, Hayden, Jailyn etc I hate because I automatically think ‘bogan’ (Aussie version of ‘redneck’).

@Duncan:  I hate Scott too! Every Scott I’ve known has been really up himself. Also, it makes me think of a joke my dad always told – when he heard the name Scott he’d say “Scott no friends”.

Ooh, I also thought of more – Kylie, Kelly, Jessica and Megan just make me think ‘mean girl’. Like, the blonde, popular bitches in high school who would torture other kids. I do not want my future daughter growing up like that!

I cringe whenever I hear the name Ben.  I was told to die by a student at uni in front of a group (he had personal issues); FI’s friend dated a Ben who was a deadbeat; and I’ve come across two Bens who have thoroughly annoyed me.  The name is ruined for me, but I’m sure if Fiance was called Ben then it would be different.

Girl name wise I’m not fond of modern names such as Tyler, Shaniece.

I am onld fashioned though and really like names like Jonanthon, Richard, Elizabeth and Samantha.

@TaurianDoll:  +1 on the name Kaylee! My ex dated a girl after me named Kaylee, and she was crazy! She kept trying to make me a FB friend and ask me why we broke up.

I just cringe at strange spellings. I went to college with a girl named Alllison. That wasn’t a typo, she actually had 3 L’s in her name.

Oh, and the boy name Jesse. Every Jesse I’ve met is a dick.

I can’t stand Erin. Every single Erin I’ve ever known has been a nasty bitch. I’m sure there are some awesome Erins out there, but I’ve never met one! Also Kyle for a guy…most Kyles I know are douches.

ETA: And Sharon. I know a few Sharons and each is extremely self-centered.

I am a Sarah and even I don’t like my name Laughing I don’t like the names: Lester, Chester, Wayne, Kyle, Loren, Jessie (for a guy) – ugh pretty much any guy names that should be girl names drive me crazy. And Chloe (with the long e sound on the end) – makes me think of a cartoon or some fictional character – oh and any stripper sounding names: Candy, Cinnamon, Lexus, Portia, or ANY car name for that matter.

@louisianablue:  I could not agree with this more. Like seriously it drives me crazy. I am a teacher and have worked at a day camp before and this is becoming like the big thing. Adysson is just the same as Adison except nobody can spell it and I also dislike adding an exrtra letter for no reason. Maxx is still Max.

Also I have a cousin who named his baby Paisley Jayddee and I mean she is a cute kid and I love them a lot but everytime I look at that baby all I can do is cringe. What a name.

@LorensAngel:  +1 on Erin. I have never met a Erin who was not a terrible b****. (no offense to any Erins out there. I’m sure there are lovely, sweet Erins someplace, I’ve just never met one.)
