We’ve already been married a year and a half and are waiting until summer to TTC, right around our 2 year anniversary mark.

We are not trying now or even thinking about it! I’m in my late late twenties and he is in his early thirties. I have no maternal instinct or biological clock that has kicked in that makes me want to have a baby so I am waiting for that to happen before I think about having a baby. I see no point in having one just to have one because that is “what people do” (my mother’s words).

We’re not trying!  it’ll probably be another year or two before we do.  we’re 26 and just want to enjoy life newlywed life together.  We’re also hoping to travel as much as possible before the kiddies come.

Not even thinking about babies! We’re young – 21/23 – and are looking to achieve some of our goals (MBA, PhD, and we LOVE to travel…) before we start down that road.

Seems like all of my friends who are married either have 1-2 kids or are trying… we feel like the oddballs ๐Ÿ™‚

Not yet for us!  We’re 23 and 24 and don’t feel the need to rush into parenthood quite yet (although we both want multiple kids).  We’re planning to start TTC in about 3-3.5 years.

Having been married sooo long maybe I shouldn’t even be on the WB, but I’ll answer anyway . .. No.  We got married in 2006 after only knowing each other for 6 months.  Then I was unemployed and finishing school.  Then the economy went to crap and DH went through 3 rounds of layoffs and a two year job search before landing something with a more stable company.  In the meantime I ended up unemployed — long story — again.

We thought we would have kids by now.  Instead we have dogs.  I am 34 and DH will be 38 in a couple of months.  Maybe next year?  I just found a job a couple of days ago and he has only been on his about 2 months.  We both want to work a year before dealing with a pregnancy.  The truth is most of my friends who didnt’ have kids by 27 didn’t end up having them until mid-30’s, with most of the guys being in the late 30’s.  I don’t think,, especially among people getting advanced degrees, this is terribly uncommon.

Were not TTC now either. Or anytime soon for that matter. Im 24 and we always said we wanted to wait at least 4 years after getting married before we had kids. Ill be 28 by that point and DH will be 31 so I think it will be a good time to start.

We aren’t – and, much to the dismay of our parents, aren’t planning to!  *gasp!*  ๐Ÿ˜‰  We are both 35… and are ok with our family being ‘just us’. ๐Ÿ™‚

Nope.

I like babies – especially when I can give them back to their parents at the end of the day.

Puppies, now… That’s something else again.

We aren’t–we don’t really want children at all. Besides, we’re young (21 and 22) and want to enjoy life without worrying about kids. We have two cats, anyway; they’re our babies.

We are not ttc (we are only 27 and been married for 1 year) but then again we aren’t ever going to try! Neither one of us wants kiddos, love them, but never wanted any of our own ๐Ÿ™‚

@iheartnerdyboys: I’m pretty much looking at the same math as you. 25 as well, and I’d like to wait til I’m 29/30. I would like a couple of ‘milestones’ to happen first. I’d like to be making a combined income of about $30k higher than what we are currently making, I’d like to pay off my line of credit, I’d like to own a house and I’d like to see Europe.

Though, friends of mine just had a baby and my best friend and her husband (my age, married 6 months longer) are TTC … and I’m catching a little of the baby fever. My practical mind will win out though. Kids are just not a financially wise idea at the moment, and there are still a lot of stuff I’d like to do with my husband before we start that step.

We’re not. We’re starting to talk timeline more seriously, but we’re not ready–we’ve got some student loan debt we’d like to pay down and consolidate first, and I just started my career this summer. ๐Ÿ˜‰ (If my job were a bit more flexible about maternity leave/letting me work part-time for a little while, that’d be one thing, but since it’s 90 minutes from home, it’s just not feasible right now.) We’re waiting until we’re just a little more established–either us living closer to my work, me working closer to our home, or his practice getting a bit more stable. Hopefully we’ll be TTC in about 2-3 years.

We aren’t – yet. DH is 32 and I’m 28. I think he’s a little closer to being ready than me.

Probably in another year or two. Right now, we’re still enjoying it being just us. We have some travel and financial goals we want to meet before we TTC. And, I’m still a little too selfish for children. I want to spend the next couple years getting that out of my system and then we’ll be ready.
