I really REALLY love the color coral, but it seems like every other bride does too. I loved that kind of color before it became such a huge trend, and I don’t want people to think our wedding is un-unique for using it, that it looks like every other wedding they’ve seen recently. I was thinking about pairing it with gray (that way its not TOO girly for the Fiance, plus they looks good together-I’m thinking gray suits and coral Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses), but I’ve seen them with torquise or teal too, which I think looks good. What do you guys think? Too over done? Other color combos are not out of the question, especially since I have a huge case of ‘OMG I love those colors in her wedding I want them!’ Should I look for something else, or stick with my original colors?
Also, do you like the coral and gray?
Or with teal/torquise too?

You should have what you love for your wedding. Have you actually been to a lot of coral weddings? Or, are you judging by what you have seen on wedding sites online? Online is not the real world.
Most of your guests will not have seen 1% of what you think is overdone.
Grey and coral are a great combination. A third color often makes a palette more interesting, but by default most weddings have white, ivory or green in linens or flowers.

Love the gray and coral combination! As the person above me said, I don’t think those colors have been overdone…certainly didn’t see anything similar at the weddings we’ve been to recently!

@shrubfish09: I am doing coral and turquoise! I love it 🙂

We are doing more of a pInky coral. Honestly, i havent been to a coral wedding and ive been to a lot of weddings recently. I think we on this site look at wedding stuff soooo often that we notice “trends”. The general public does not. Pick what you want. It will be beautiful 🙂

@shrubfish09: I like the coral and gray with turquoise with aqua blue. Who cares if they are overdone. I honestly haven’t seen this color combo that often! It is you and your FI’s day so go with what you both want!

My colors are grey, peach/coral, mint green, blush, and ivory…they are spring colors so most people tend to go with these 🙂

I do not remember the colors of a single wedding I’ve ever been to in my life. Seriously. Not one. Not even when I was a bridesmaid or my husband was the best man, much less the ones where we were just guests. I don’t think anyone ever has to worry about “their colors” seeming un-unique.

I don’t think it’s too over-done at all. Around here, most brides use purples, greens and soft pinks. And trust me, I’ve seem aloooooot of weddings 🙂
I love coral, it’s a fun colour!

Not overdone!! Coral is beautiful and flattering.
Remember, 90% of guests do not ever look at wedding blogs or know what’s happening in the “wedding world”, so don’t worry about it!!

I’ve never remembered the colors of any wedding I’ve been to with maybe the exception of something really recent. So I wouldn’t worry about what anyone else thinks, because no one will remember. I love coral, and I would have done it if my wedding was in the summer!

I think you shouldn’t worry about what brides your year are into, because most of your guests will be oblivious.
Let me see if I can remember the wedding colors of my friends’ wedding:
2003. Navy and white
2004. lavender and silver
2004. peach? there was also wheat?
2004. Pink. lots of pink!
2004 can’t remember this one. I cried at the ceremony though.
2005. Copper and pearl
2005. Red and white
2007. erm…i know the bridesmaids wore pink dresses, but they hadn’t planned to? There was an issue with the original dresses?
2008. blue and yellow
2012. blue and white
Notice my TOTAL inability to actualy tell you precise colors when the bride didn’t tell me herself, and some I’ve forgotten. I have NO IDEA if red and white was big in 2005, or if lavender totally screams 2004; my friends just like those colors. I think most of your guests will look around, think, “Oh, pretty!” and not go look up how your wedding compares to Pinterest boards across the nation.

I initially had coral and turquoise but changed it to coral and royal blue after falling in love with a royal blue Bridesmaid or Best Man dress i saw. Coral is certainly a beautiful color that can compliment any season and just about any other color. I think its a trendy color that is now becoming popular online. Go for it!!!

@julies1949: I totally agree. There are only so many colors out there…so really, every color combo has been done. Many times over. But I promise your guests won’t care or remember, and haven’t been scouring wedding blogs for the latest trends!
