wandering_gypsy:  I would agree with you, I think they’re all cute and I wouldn’t hesitate to put them on a baby, no matter the sex! A friend of ours used a pair of jean-ish toms for her announcement. Honestly, I think the green with whales, or the gray, just most apealling to my eye!

I voted for basic grey as being the most neutral. And I love the announcement samples you’ve posted. The dog <3

If I got an announcement with any of those shoes I might assume it’s a boy. The gray ones seems to be the most neutral. If they are in black and white, then the gray shoes could look pink or blue or any light color

Unfortunatly the only one which didn’t make me think boy were the whales. I would still dress a girl in all of those but, by themselves on an announcement they just say boy! Especially to the older generation who is used to very divided clothing.

Just a suggestion, but why not use tiny white socks instead of shoes? Can’t get move neutral than white socks and tiny socks are adorable.

Everdeen:  Yup, this. I hate gender stereotypes but they all say ‘boy’ to me; I think socks are a cute idea.

Oh and I’m going to go against the grain: while the dog photo is super cute I really like the one with the calendar; I think I like the way the date is ticked and just the way it’s composed, I don’t know.

What about red converse?  Our friends just used red and they’ve been “Team Green” throughout the pregnancy!

They are all boy’s shoes, so why not just get a plain pair of white?

I’d put any kid in those shoes, but on an announcement the only ones that wouldn’t make me assume boy are the grey and whales.

When I think of baby shoes, I think of something like these:

The mostly white, leather ones.  They are typically gender neutral.
