I’m hoping some of you with a good eye for detail can help me out! 🙂
I tried on a lovely trumpet dress a few weeks ago that I fell in love with. The store wrote down the wrong designer for me on the card to take home, but I was able to identify on their website as the Ella Rosa BE123.
I tried on a few other dresses, but kept thinking about this one. So much so that, yesterday, I asked to try it on again at another store and ended up purchasing it (for a lot less cash than the first store!)
Here’s my dilemma: When I got home and compared the photos from my initial visit when I fell in love with the dress (on the left side, with the yellow backdrop), the dress looks a lot more sleek, not as bunched up, and just overall a much better shape on me than the way it looks at the place where I bought it from (on the right side of the photo). The “flare” at the first store also seems to start at a higher point on my hips than in the second photo (I prefer this).
Is it possible that the dresses look so different in these two photos only due to the sizing of the samples? For sure the dress at the first store was closer to my actual size than the one I tried on at the second store (it was about 4 sizes too big, which is also why I am clipped in a lot “snugger” and the shape at the bottom looks more ‘mermaid’).
Would the sizing really impact the point at which the “flare” starts so noticably?
Orrr is it possible that the second store where I bought mine from (25% cheaper) is a replica or something, and that’s why it doesn’t look as nice?
I don’t know if I’m being a total nerd and freaking out over something that is obviously just an issue of dress sizes, or whether I purchased my dress at a bad shop (I didn’t think this was likely since the person who took me there is a friend/wedding planner who has had other happy brides buy from there before..but I should note the place doesn’t really have any online reviews).
Have a look at the photo below and let me know your thoughts pls!
