its only 200 dollars to get the colored uplights from my DJ. we would do just red for dinner and stuff and then he said when people start dancing they change colors and beat with the music – its will be a much younger crowd at my wedding so i think this would be kind of fun and get everyone into the mood ya know?
has anyone else done uplights? do you feel like it was worth the cost?
anyone have pics?

I think lighting can totally transform a room. Uplights for me would be in the thousands so we aren’t doing it and b/c our reception is in an old historic building you have to use an approved vendor so no DIY 🙁 If its only costing you 200 I say go for it!

For $200 I think its definitely worth it.

That is a good deal for uplighting. But to me, still not worth it. Honestly I feel like they are cheesy and make a wedding look like a night club. Especially if they are changing color to the beat of the music. If you do go for it I would just stick with one solid color for the night.

Here is my venue with uplighting and without. I think it completely changes the room.

@MrsPinkPeony: oh wow! thank you for the pic! that is beautiful!
i think i might as well chalk up the 200 bucks – not alot of money in the grand scheme of things.
