The only time I’ve ever been to NOLA was in July, and it was always hot in the day time , but honestly everything is air conditioned. I walked two miles from my hotel to the superdome twice a day, and to the convention center ( I was there for a conference) and it wasn’t too bad, it cools off enough in the night and its fun to bar hop in the day time or dip into shops for a refresher! Don’t let it ruin your plan!

In August? I wouldn’t, personally. I lived in the Florida panhandle (so about the same weather wise) and…yeah August can get pretty awful. Hot, humid, sweaty. I’d only go if I could spend most of my time at the beach. I went to Disney World once in July and it was god-awful. If you can get past that then go! Late September or October would be a lot better. October is still warm enough you can lay on the beach but it isn’t awful out.
It’s plenty hot/humid here too in Kansas and I wouldn’t want to spend a lot of time outside here in July or August either unless I was at a pool! There’s a reason I like to take local summer vacations to Colorado.
Rains never bothered me because it is only for like an hour and then it’s gone.

- Wedding: September 2015 - North NJ
I went with my boyfriend to New Orleans (we are from NJ) 2 years ago in August for a week. We got a great flight deal and now we know why!
It was hot. We didn’t have any problem with rain, but boy, it was really, really, really hot. I am not one to complain usually, and I am not one to be a “princess” about things, but we were really miserable some days. We took 3 showers a day. We went on a few tours and didn’t enjoy them becasue we would duck out of the walking tour to find a store with AC to stand in for 2 minutes before catching up with the group.
That being said- I am SO glad him and I went. We have some great memories and we got a great price on everything. But, it was also a random trip for us, not a honeymoon.

Thanks everyone! We’ve decided to take our chances with the heat and go!
