I don’t think they are a must.  I’ve been to weddings that had no favors and never missed them.  I think most of them (unless they are edible) get thrown away anyway.

From what I have read here on the boards, favors are not a must.

I don’t think favors are a must. Most of the time they just get left behind or thrown away by guests.

I think favors are great if you can do something personal to you/your venue that guests will really enjoy but I don’t think anyone will fault you for not having favors.

They can be easily skipped and no one will miss them.

Absolutely not! We would love to have them but we are so over budget and we justify that we have so many other little treats and things that a favor just isn’t necessary. I wouldn’t worry about it and I promise, your guests won’t even notice 🙂

everyone on here says no, its not a must. But I think its kind of rude for some reason to not leave somthing for them, I also think most favors are stupid and will be left behind but its more of “the thought that counts” thing to me. What about something cheep like a little candy and you can wrap it up any way you want.

I didn’t even notice that there weren’t favors at the last wedding I attended.

No worries!

I dont think they are a must. I just think they are a nice added extra. But depending on when your wedding is, My moms best friends came up with the idea to do hot chocolate kits. Very easy and cheap!!

i wasnt sure what to do about this either, then i just decided to rent a photobooth and that would be the favor, cost me $1300. I am having 150 people so thats less than 3 dollars pp and a fun way to entertain during the night, just a thought 🙂

I didn’t do favors…. and I really don’t think anyone noticed or cared. Or if they did I haven’t heard a thing about it!

@Vickey2OOO: That’s actually $8 something a person, but still sounds like a good idea, I would much rather have the pictures than a matchbook or jordan almonds.

Nothing is an absolute when it comes to weddings do what you what you want. If you dont want to do favors than dont.

We didnt do favors. We had Out of Town bags for our guests, rehearsal dinner meal and drinks for all guests, open bar, and day after brunch – we provided enough I didnt think that favors were 100% necessary especially because they just seemed like another thing to add to the ever growing list!
