I’m a dog person but I also have cats. FH came with a cat and I’ve gotten used to it, but I love the fact that my dogs are always super excited to see me and they want to be around me. The cats just hide all day and come out to eat. I like the companionship a dog gives, not that cats can’t, I just have evil cats. I have a pit and a lab mix, and I love them to pieces. Of course, here’s a picture.

Both! There was no option in the survey, so that is it.

@Mrs_Amanda:  I used to think I was a dog person but now I am certain I am a cat person! I have a kitty and he’s the best. I don’t have to walk him, he fits in my small apartment, I don’t have to wipe his paws like ever (I would if I had a dog since we live in snowy/muddy Canada so after each walk), etc.

Dogs are just too much work and don’t really fit my lifestyle. I also like how cats are sassy and somewhat independent (my cat still follows me everywhere and sleeps on my bed so I get that cuddly companionship). And how they climb things… it’s amusing haha. Potty training a dog isn’t fun.. my cat came trained. Barking is annoying.

With that said, I like dogs too, but at this point in my life I am definitely a cat person!

Cats crack me up so I do love them. But I am 100% a dog person.

100% dog person. I have always had dogs as pets and longest companion was of 10 years. My hubby has had both dogs and cats in his life. However, before we were married we agreed on not having cats due to my severe allergies (the only cat I’m not allergic to is my in-laws’) and he hates dealing with kitty litter boxes.

I love dogs.  I actually think they are less maintenance than a cat.  I did put a lot of work into my dog, but now she is perfectly trained.  Cats are much less trainable.  I don’t want my pet on my counter!  Or pooping in my house!

My dog is trained to only bark in an emergency so she is silent, she sleeps all day and we take her running at night.  I like the interaction and rules followed by my dog.  I also love to hike and camp and I like having a buddy to do it with.  Before I met DH it was just me and dog and we hiked every single day in the mountains with our Mustang (oh, the wild days!)

But I love all animals.  Kitties can be cute and smart and sweet.

I grew up with two cats and currently have a cat (just got him this week actually!) with my boyfriend in our apartment. I’ve never had dogs, so i can’t really say, but I do like both. Dogs seem like too much work though. I like the independence of cats and they can still be just as cuddly and loveable as dogs 🙂

I’ve always been a cat person – I prefer to be entertained, not do the entertaining. I’ve always found that dogs give me that “Okay boss, what’s next?” face, like they’re expecting something. I love how independent cats are, and goofy.

That said, I’m still bugging my SO for a dog soon. 😉 We I only survived three weeks in our apartment without a cat!

Love cats and their independence. Love dogs and their loyalty. But if I had to pick – its a cat every single time. My aunt use to have me sit in the barn and the wild cats would come right up to me, feral cats – and she could vaccinate/deworm them. Never met a cat that didn’t love me, even the wild ones. It’s a great feeling. Innocent
