I am a night owl. Unless I am sick or only had a few hours of sleep the night before, I cannot get to bed before midnight. I’ve been like this as long as I can remember, but it seems to be getting worse as I get older. I swear I could stay up all night without a problem. I’d probably be the perfect to work a 3rd shift job. I hate mornings. It takes me a good 30 minutes to be “awake”. I just like to be quiet and drink coffee to start my day. When my FI is all cheery and talkative in the morning, it’s like nails on a chalkboard for me. It’s almost painful. LOL
So what about you?

I work the “3rd” shift so I am up in the mornings already, because I am just coming back home…. My days and nights are screwed up. But when I used to work “normal” hours, I am a morning person, I love to wake up and go.

I’m a morning person. I wake up around 5 AM whether I have to work or not. Sometimes I try to go back to sleep, but I never get that really good deep sleep again.

Maybe you could put up a poll, it would be interesting to see. I’m a night person! I totally hate mornings with a passion. I just can’t get up and I can stay up forever.

Neither, I’m sooo not a morning person and I’m asleep by 10:30 every night.

@couawilou: Done!
I am exactly how you describe yourself. I don’t like to wake up, but I can be up forever.

Dh and I are both night people too! Pretty much every morning, we do the whole “We really need to go to bed earlier” thing.

Morning here. I am up at 4:30-5 am no matter what. I’m sad that I can’t sleep in, too many years of starting work at 6 am!

I don’t like to wake up, but when I do wake up, I want it to be early in the morning (does that even make sense?). I love the early morning hours around sunrise when the world is just waking up, the air is chilly, the grass is wet, etc. etc. I love being up and sipping my tea and watching the sun come up…but I hate actually waking up and getting out of bed. Most mornings I wake up at 7am, see the sun starting to come in through the window, think how much I would love to get up and make tea and sit quietly by the window, but fall back asleep because I’m too sleepy. If I wake up past 9am I feel like I completely wasted my day, but most days I’m too tired to actually wake up.
I don’t make any sense hahaha.

@mswizard: You make complete sense! I had no idea how to put that into words, but that’s exactly me.

Night person all the way. Before I got married, I stayed up until 3am every night, 5am on some nights. I don’t even know what I was doing. DH has gotten me to the point where I can fall asleep at 10pm now, but waking me up is still really hard. If left alone, I’ll wake up at 8 or 9am with a headache from too much sleep. So I usually just spend 30 minutes dragging myself out of bed before he goes to work.
