You know… I thought about it. But then I was like…. naahh I want to be a pure white bride. I figure my bouquet could be color enough. Blue + Purple baby, wewt!

I wore a bright orange crinoline under mine.  Not even the slightest regrets. It looked fantastic.  I think it’s time for more brides to branch out of the white thing – it’s like the fad that never ends, but it looks like it’s becoming more acceptable to be a little more creative now.  Yay, cause colors are fun! (also I look weird in white)

I haven’t found my gown yet, but I am planning on a light blue satin underlay with a white lace overlay. My dream!

I have the Mori Lee 5108 ivory over nude.  I found a blush/peach english netting and having godets added to the skirt as well as a veil made from it.  I wish I had pictures to show but my seamstress has it. I am a big fan of adding subtle color and contemplated adding coral crinolines.

I added a red petticoat and a red belt. My shoes were also fun with polks dots, a cat face and a red bow. My bouquet was red with brooches and I also had a red parasol for some photos.

Ourloverenewals:  Thanks so much! I had a blast planning with the retro theme 🙂 I wear less fancy 50’s dresses all the time, so it really went with how I look in real life. I even got a Bridesmaid or Best Man dress for myself I liked it so much.

The shoes actually came like that, can you believe it???? They are from a compamy called T.U.K. I have other cat face shoes from them, and these just happened to be perfect for the wedding.

Ourloverenewals:  Thanks!  Orange is my most favoritest color, lol.  There was no question that it would be in my day – plus I tend to prefer the bright/rich colors anyway.  I was a little nervous about the whole outfit whenever I thought too much about it.  Retro is not something I do on the regular.  But in the end it was exactly right for us.  I swoon over the big gorgeous gowns, but it’s just not me.

I’m adding a few teal paw prints on the underside of my train in memory of my grandmother. I don’t know how noticeable it’ll be but that’s enough for me.
