@mrsedwardslpn:  That is alot of weight to take off in 2 months, at least in a healthy way.  You want to have it off when you go to Miami?? I am making changes in my lifestyle, but I would not say that I am dieting.  I started at 178, and I am down to 164.  That is 14 lbs. in two months.  I have made moderate changes in my diet and added some exercise.  I don’t reccomend trying to take off that much weight in such a short amount of time.  The only way would be to literally starvation.  How about just make some changes, and add a little exercise and cut out the bad stuff?  That is what I have done, and overall I feel much better than I did 14 lbs ago.

How tall are you? If you are at least an average height and are fairly significantly overweight, a calorie controlled diet and exercise should do the job. Try MyFitnessPal. If you aren’t sure how many calories are in things, you may have to start weighing/measuring your food to begin with.

If you are short (and therefore have a low BMR) and don’t have much weight to lose, it’s pretty tough going, as I’ve found out. But that may not be the case for you.

No more processed meals, though. All natural foods from here on!

@mrsedwardslpn:  Girl, I’m STILL dieting. It took me 5 months to drop 10 pounds! I have about 3 more pounds to go if I want to be able to breathe in my dress. 🙂  Take your measurements because weight “lies” when it comes to getting your body in-shape. You know, muscle weighs more than fat.

My first suggestion is to drink tons and tons of water! Drink a tall glass of water before you eat dinner. Don’t skip meals, just eat smaller portions; be kind to your body and it will be kind back. Work-out; cardio and light weights. And most of all, stay positive!

@mrsedwardslpn:  “i lost about 5lbs in a week like that” WTF? How? Is this some magic I’m not aware of? I drink tea like a BEAST and I LOVE cinnamon!

I don’t know. At the moment, no, but I’m starting to work out a bit more.

I donlt want to fall into the “Bridal body image disorder” trap, so I’m taking it slow. I don’t want to catch myself saying mean things to myself about my body!

@mrsedwardslpn:  **** it. If it makes me lose even 1lb in two weeks I’ll hook myself up to a drip and mainline it… (!)

… whatever works… *thinking about how to steal a drip as I type*

Not dieting, exactly, but keeping a food journal, because it makes me more “aware” of how I’m eating/exercising.

I lost 10 pounds in 4.5 months this way.

@mrsedwardslpn:  My problem area is my stomach too! I only lost 10 pounds but, I lost 3 inches in my belly! I’m totally going to try the cinammon tea! Thanks!
