The whole garter things seems to happen most when the couple is either faily young or really into partying. That’s not us. We forewent this one.

Yes! I’ve never seen anyone put it on someone elses leg, how awkward! My mom when she got married had two bouquet tosses and two garter tosses. One was for girls 14 and younger and then for anyone older than that. Same with the boys. Then there was a slow song that played and the girl and boy from the different age groups danced. It was cute!

We skipped everything to do with the garter.  We had 1 person ask about it, and they were like “oh, okay!”  Yeah, not really our thing.

@Lily_of_the_valley:  We fully intended to, but then the party got started and I told the DJ to skip that and the bouquet toss because I didn’t want to interrupt the dancing 🙂

My aunt and uncle did it at their wedding and let me tell you, that is a sexual side of my uncle that I NEVER want to see again lol.

We wont do it. No way I trust my man drunk and up my dress, *facepalm*. But I’m doing a bouquet toss. I LOVE them.

Nope, we didn’t do anything like that. I was given a garter as my something old and blue, but I completely forgot about it. I had other old and blue items.

I did not do the garter toss or bouquet toss…

Once the speeches were done (during the first course) I didn’t want there to be any interruptions. I basically just wanted to music to keep playing and for people to just dance, drink and have fun……

Cake cutting, bouquet tossing, garter tossing….. all interruptions that disrupt the flow of the night….. in my opinion anyway………

@Lily_of_the_valley:  No way. I think it’s tacky, embarrassing, and awkward. Future Sister-In-Law did it and when I said I’m not doing it she said “that’s weird.” I am of the opinion that having my new husband putting his head under my dress in front of everyone I know is more weird than not doing that.
