I’m doing a trial run at home with my hairdresser and taking pics for my Jamaica hairdresser (whom I’ve never met or worked with…should be fun..lol).  Not doing a make-up trial either as I figure it can’t make me look worse (unless she does me up like a clown).

I will most likely do both hair and makeup trials. Quick tip: take pictures of the final result at your trial!!! My friend just got married last weekend and the stylist did not recreate what they had done in the trial and she was so disappointed (had to go elsewhere for someone else to do it!)

I did a trial run on my hair. Thank god I did, too because after 3.5 hours in her chair it was terrible. I was left scrambling to find a new stylist. I didn’t have a trial with her (because I didn’t have time… 4 days before the wedding) but I saw lots of photos of her work and was happy with that. It ended up going fine.

I did a makeup trial run too, but didn’t need to. She was awesome.

I’m not doing a trial, my wedding destination is 5 hours away and I have no time to do it. I’m having really simple hair and makeup. I did a lot of research on my salon, then sent them pics of me, the hair I want, and makeup ideas. I’m not super specific about what I want my hair to look like, so I’m not that worried.

I think I’m the minority here but I did not do a trial for either and was really happy with how both my hair and makeup turned out. Just be sure to have some inspiration pics and know exactly what you are going for.

I’m doing a trial for sure! Sometimes, a vision of what you think you want may not actually translate well with bridal attire or the temperature. In addition, I wear a fair amount of makeup daily and I’ve worked as a MUA before, so a trial helps me to adjust to the way someone else does my makeup. And with hair, for sure you want to see how the veil/fascinator/etc. look before the day of in case it turns out to be unflattering, inconvenient, uncomfortable, etc.

I did trials for both because I’m stepping outside my comfort zone; I also wanted to know how long it was going to take because styling my hair is…challenging. It also helped with my day-of timeline so I could schedule people the way I needed to…

I didn’t do a trial for hair or makeup and everything turned out fine.  I was not going to get all stressed about something like hair and makeup.

I didn’t do a trial run for my makeup or my hair.  I wish I had done one for my hair now, though!  We were marrying out-of-state and didn’t fly into town in time for me to have one though.  I’d recommend it if you can squeeze it in!

i’m not doing either or….I’m going to do my hair my self and the make up will be done by my sister. i feel like doing those things by others is just a waste of money.
