Well I already had my wedding and this specific event was unplanned on my part, but my priest presented my husband and I with a papal blessing during the ceremony. Pretty neat surprise! Aside from that, everything was very traditional.

Im doing a scotch/whisky tasting table at my reception.  Guests can receive samplers of different products.  Other than that nothing really.

All decor is eco-friendly since I’m getting married on earth day. Everything will be made from recycled materials.

We led a line with our guests behind us down to the ceremony spot in our yard.

It’s not unheard of but we’re having a cigar roller at the wedding and our place cards are personalized Christmas ornaments since we’re having out wedding a week before Christmas.

We’re having a private first dance. After the ceremony guests will be directed to cocktail hour and we’re going to wander off for a short walk to another area of the property and do our first dance. It’ll just be us (and the photographer). People may wander over and see the dance which is fine, but it’s being planned as a private first dance. I can’t wait!

Nothing unique planned except the wedding itself is on an odd day, Tuesday. Does that count? 😎 But I love the idea of a private dance and never would have thought of it. Cut dances out since they didn’t seem necessary and I’m not comfortable having all eyes on me (even thoughts of the short ceremony freak me out) but if Fiance is open to it a private sunset dance on the patio sounds lovely.

We’re going to be passing around vodka shots to cheers with after one of the speeches because FI’s family is polish. I think it’ll be hilarious (and my grandma will likely be horrified), but we want everyone to take one!

We’re also planning on doing a really fast/upbeat first dance that we are going to take dance lessons for. Our theme of our wedding is that we want to have fun, so the latter half of the first dance we’re going to invite everyone to come dance with us 🙂

I’m having my dad officiate and my godfather walk me. We’re doing brunch (which is more common now than when I started planning 🙁 ) with southern/soul food. Tons of southern traditions will be incorporated. We’ll also have an Airstream Cigar Lounge and and all female bridal party.

Personal touches will be our collection of travel (and wedding planning!) scrap books, splatter painted plates we made to match the color theme, a personalized newspaper and I’m considering malong an aisle runner with the entire movie scrip lines from our favorite film (which we quote all the time).
