Ditto to techie…I have my everyday makeup down…But I’m clueless about what a photograph requires to look good.  Plus my makeup girl has the most fabulous fake eyelashes that I could ever imagine, and I’m probably getting my makeup done by her just so I can get those eyelashes…They’re the kind that go out longer on the edge of your eye – so you look all demure Minnie Mouse or something.  SoFLo brides – I’ve got an awesome makeup girl, very reasonable, if you need one!

@jholler25: Is she charging you a lot for the eyelashes? I’m an eyelash junkie too (cursed with short asian lashes) and I know of a couple good brands if she’d be ok with you bringing your own 🙂 Is she doing semi-permanent? Single falsies?

I got my makeup professionally done and am very glad I did! I also highly suggest using a good primer and makeup setting spray.

@Sulli301: which primer and make-up spray did you use?

I had a Sephora person teach me how to do the makeup look I want, and I’m going to practice for the next few months to try to get it down.  Just in case, my mom used to work for Lancome for many years, and she or any of her great connections could back me up if needed 🙂

After a couple of horrible make-up trials I have decided to do my own using Clinique.  I like the finish and can have fun trying out different things.  Plus when the day is all over I still have my fabulous makeup range and haven’t wasted a huge amount of money on my face for one day 🙂

    Professional for sure.

I totally suck at applying eye makeup. I usually throw in some powder, eyeliner, and mascara. That’s the extent of my make-up routine.

And I don’t wear any to work. lol

I’m doing my make up on my own. I’m having a destination wedding, don’t really wear make up, and I want to do a natural, glowy look. I know that salon at the resort I’m going to does a good job, I’d rather just do my own.

I’ll be getting lash extensions before I leave and visiting a MAC counter for some tips and make up to practice with.

Yes. I like the way I do my own makeup.

I plan to do my own… I have never really liked having my makeup done by anyone else, I’m never really happy with the result.

@whitters333: I posted about this before but I bought Skindinavia Bridal finishing spray off line and I love it. It says its suppose to make your make-up last for 16 hours and its true. It is the best. Also MAC fix+ isn’t good as a finishing spray (can leave skin oily) but if you spray it on before your make up and let it dry, it hydrates your skin and make-up goes on smoother & lasts longer.

For primer, I like bare mineral’s prime time.

I did my own makeup. After a make-up trial lots of people that saw it said my own “going out” make-up style was better looking and more dramatic. So I chose to stick with their opinions. Plus it gave me a moment to myself on that day, when everyone was running around the hotel suite. My BM’s had theirs done though.

Nope! I am going to hire a proffesional.
