I’ve been keeping a journal of love notes, etc that I started the day we got engaged and plan to give it to him on the wedding day. Nothing expensive just an idea I came across that I thought was sweet. He is getting my a necklace with my new initials on it.

I posted about this a few weeks ago asking for gift ideas.  My guy doesn’t really like watches or cuff links or “things” in general… So I think I”m going to buy us a sky-diving trip.

(Luckily our folks are funding about 90% of our fairly modest wedding – otherwise paying for the wedding would be gift enough!)

PS – I’m pretty sure he’s getting me two kittens!  (From the pound or somebody’s accidental litter, of course.)  I’ve talked about it enough that it’s become fairly cemented – YESSSSSSSSSS!

We didn’t exchange gifts.  We did pass a note to each other during our “first NOT-look”

Yeah I am pumped!  I’ve always wanted to go, and he’s gone once and loved it.

A lazy boy chair is a great idea too – he’ll think of you while he’s all comfy.

I haven’t put a whole lot of thought into it since our wedding is 2.5 years away, but once when we were at the jewelry store getting my e-ring fixed, he lingered by the watch display and casually mentioned which ones appealed to him.  He doesn’t have a watch, and we don’t give such large gifts for birthdays/Christmas, so it would work as a wedding gift.  No clue what he would get me, if he were so inclined.

I gave my Darling Husband a bicycle as a wedding gift.

Traditionally, the Gifts exchanged between a Bride & Groom are items that are classic, timeless, and substantial (will be around for years to come… heirloom worthy… stuff to pass down to the Kiddies & Grandkiddies in the future)

Which is why more often than not they’ve been Jewellery for both sexes… often times engraved / monogrammed

Mr TTR & I exchanged watches.

Love Notes are also common… either alone or with a gift as well.

In recent history tho, a lot of couples choose to gift each other items they’ll use in their Marriage life together… so things like matching bikes for their interest in cycling and an investment in their relationship’s forthcoming weekends pursuing that passion

    Hope this helps,

Skagen watch for my FI! So cliché but he wants one!
