@hartmamp:  I plan on getting an additional, special gift for my Maid/Matron of Honor, but will be doing it privately after the wedding.  Not 100% sure what it will be, but I’m leaning towards a travel voucher as her and her husband travel frequently to a certain city every year, so I thought it’d be nice to give them enough for 2 round-trip tickets (her husband is also our photographer and is doing it for free – which – OMG is a HUGE gift to us!).  For the wedding day, I will present her and my bridesmaids similar tote bags, robes, personalized hangers, and will be paying for their hair and makeup.  I think it’s best to keep the general gifts similar and then give her the additional gift in private so that there’s no awkwardness for your Maid/Matron of Honor receiving something above and beyond in front of the others.

Yes, I am giving my MOH/ sister something very different from the other girls because I have pretty much put the poor girl through hell.

my son was my moh “man of honour” and he did a lot of extra legwork for me as i planned our wedding from out of the country.  he also helped set up and tear down the venue.  for this, i paid for his tux, and got him a few nice gifts.  i didn’t have any bm’s.  my dh’s sister stood up for him but did nothing to help out (in fact even 1hr late for the rehearsal) and left the wedding early.  she got a pearl necklace/earring set.

Maybe give her a hostess gift for each of those occasions

Yeah, I splurged on a spa day for my 2 maids of honor the day before the wedding – mani/pedis and massages. They’ve been my best friends forever (seriously – a combined 40 years of friendship). And they’ve been phenomenal through this whole thing, they 100% deserve something special.

@hartmamp:  I got my Maid/Matron of Honor an additional hostess gift for planning my bridal shower.  I think she really appreciated it!

Yes, my Maid/Matron of Honor is my sister and my best friend. I wanted to get her something extra, that I will give to her privately. We’ve been talking about how she will need a larger purse for the wedding to carry my stuff and hers so I got her a Kate Spade tote that she will love!
